285 Take-out & Catering: Fresh, Flavorful Fast Food and Drinks on Cabot Trail, Ingonish

This was a great find for us. Food truck is located on a driveway not far off the highway. The owners are super friendly, and the food was great. Some things were sold out, but that's a good sign in my opinion. Husband had a burger. I had the fish & chips. Both were delicious. They had the option of a diry soda and it was really good! 10/10 would recommend if you're in the area and can do takeout

This is a food truck outlet parked at the side of the owner's residential driveway, it might have you 2nd guessing the address but when you turn into the driveway, you are there. This is truly fast food with a varied fast food menu. Hot dogs, smash burgers, Jalepeno poppers, fries, local lemonade and peach lemon as well as an assortment of chicken wings. There are also some seafood dishes. I can't say enough about the quality of the food, ESPECIALLY the fries. We are from Quebec and I will attest as well that the Poutine passes mustard, it is the real deal, just like home. The smash burgers were amazing as well with fresh ground beef, definitely not frozen. All the food is produced with fresh ingredients and is full of authentic flavor. The speed at which it was prepared was absolutely amazing, considering what we had ordered for the 4 of us. 4 meals plus 2x 1L lemonade came to just over $100. That is just a bit more than big chain fast food and the big chains have got NOTHING on this man's food. We think the money was very well spent. We will be going back again, before we leave the area. It is that good.

Excellent food. Worth stopping off the Cabot trail for some takeout! We had the buffalo chicken fries.

We are big fans of 285 food truck! We have tried every drink they have made so far and have loved them all (our favorites being the limeade and orange cream dirty soda!). The maple burbon buffalo wings are my go-to and my husband really likes the nashville chicken sandwhich. The chicken club is a hit with our kids and is big enough for them to split. The customer service is great and we can't wait to see what specials are offered in the future.

Tried some of their lemonade today (electric blue and peaches and cream). Great size. Delicious! And they came with cute colored-coordinated candy! We will be back to try the food and for more lemonade!!

My wife and I have been in Nova Scotia for 3 months and now sightseeing Cape Breton Island and hands down to 285 takeout. They have the best chicken wing's and fish tacos that we have experienced thus far. Not only that, the owner (which I didnt catch his name) gave us a ride back with our two dogs at night knowing we had car trouble and needed to walk more than 30 min back to Spruces accommodation. He is a wonderful person for helping us through our stressful night and of course he is an excellent cook. We highly recommend to try their food!

Lemonade was a perfect balance of sweet and tart, Oklahoma smash burger was exactly what you would want when you think of a smash burger. Whistle dog was delicious but the poutine was one of the best I’ve ever had!

One of the best fish tacos I’ve had. Poutine is with the proper cheese curd. Great limonade. Overall food was delicious but do check your order… they forgot my salad but luckily my friend was there as well, and she picked it up for me.
